BIOGRAPHY

The Iddy Biddies is a Berklee-based collective of musicians led by singer-songwriter Gene Wallenstein. The Iddy-Biddies' musical inspiration comes from groups that specialize in blending the traditional genres of indie, folk, and Americana.

The goal of this band is to write and perform music that is open and honest. We want to tell stories that connect people together and that remind us of our common humanity. These stories are echoes of the basic foibles and follies of a typical life. Rather than being based on grand ideas or elusive concepts, they are born where life is truly lived.

These songs ask that you, dear listener, see yourself in others - all others. Do you see that elderly man waiting for the bus in the rain? Doesn’t he look angry and exhausted? How about that waitress who seemed impatient with you at lunch? How do you connect with these great souls? We want our songs to remind listeners that these everyday moments can be sacred events if we reach across the gap and connect with people through compassion and kindness. We want our music to be reminders of these little opportunities for grace. We all want more grace in our lives, don’t we?

Our songs feel like a dinner invitation to a friend’s home that arrives right when you most need to share something important, whether it is good news or bad. They remind you that you are not alone. You are inter-connected with others and we are all ultimately traveling the same path.
